The Grasshopper is an old-ass drink, but it’s stood the test of time for a reason: it’s damn delicious. Perfect for anytime of year, it’s sweet, minty, creamy, refreshing and classy. It’s not strong, but tasty enough that you’ll have devoured 10 before you know it, so take it easy.
It’s also super easy to make, with equal parts of three ingredients:
Creme de Menthe
Creme de Cacao
Half and Half (make with half cream, half milk if you can’t get this in the supermarket)
Instead of creme de cacao, I used Mozart, a white chocolate cream liqueur.
Shake together over ice and strain into a cocktail glass. I like to garnish the glass by drizzling a little chocolate syrup around the inside, but that strays from the classic style, so it’s fine to leave it as it is.
You can make this into a Frozen Grasshopper by substituting the cream with mint ice-cream and blending. You can also take it to Flying Grasshopper level by substituting the cream with vodka.
